2008 International Triathlon

This years Olympic Distance Air New Zealand International Triathlon held on Saturday 10 May was a huge success with up to 70 contestants from New Zealand, Australia and a strong contingent of locals taking part.

The triathlon course consisted of a 1.5km swim, 41km cycle (around the island 31km plus a 10km circuit of the airport via hospital hill) and a 10km run.

Kiwi triathlon gun Josh White won the event in 2:10:04 with local triathlete Geoff Stoddart the first local home (2:17) and placed 5th place overall.
