Local sevens players ‘snubbed’

“It‘s poor management from Cook Islands Rugby Union to allow all players and officials for the Wellington sevens tournament to come from overseas,” a signaller texts. “Our local players have been snubbed. They are better than the overseas players. Time for a change at the next AGM.”

What's the point

Commenting on the Scott’s Farm odour issue, a smoke signaller writes to TXT188: “Obviously it’s more of an environmental problem to fix short-term air and lagoon pollution, but health and sickness to longer to connect in the long-term. I wonder what the point is of having acts and laws to give power to do something.”

We want Rua

A second smoke signaller texts in their support for a contestant who missed out at the H Factor talent quest: “Rua robbed at the H Factor. Having watched the re-runs of the H Factor, I’m disappointed that Alan Rua didn’t make the cut. What’s up with that?” Another signaller makes a harsh assessment: “Wow, so what does the ‘H’ in H Factor stand for...humongous? Is it now based on the size of the competitors and not their vocal range?”
